Slack Position Salesforce as an Agentic OS

Intelligence: Slack announced at Dreamforce that it will be the conversational interface for Salesforce and the unified home for AI agents, unveiling new native AI features and developer capabilities to bring context-aware automation into everyday work.

• Slack is making CRM conversational by bringing Agentforce Sales, IT Service, HR Service, and Tableau directly into Slack so teams can query records, get recommendations, and take action in natural language without switching apps.

• New native AI in Slack includes a rebuilt personalized Slackbot and a Channel Expert agent that delivers instant answers from company context, alongside enterprise search with upcoming connectors for Gmail, Outlook, Dropbox, and Notion.

• The developer platform adds a Real Time Search API, a Model Context Protocol server, and an AI Developer Toolkit to enable secure, context-aware agents and simplify building AI apps inside Slack.

• Partners, including OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, Writer, Dropbox, Notion, Cognition, Vercel, and Cursor, are launching agents such as ChatGPT for Slack using Real Time Search, Codex for code tasks, Claude for collaboration, and Agentspace powered by live Slack data.

• The business case highlights a BCG finding that a 30 percent productivity gain can translate to 50 percent higher revenue and an IDC forecast of $22 trillion in cumulative AI impact by 2030, with Customer Engine using Slack as a command center to scale.
