Intelligence: Cohere announced a new partnership with SAP to integrate its enterprise AI models into SAP’s business platforms, aiming to enhance automation, data security, and scalability for global customers.

Michael Burry Challenges Nvidia Over the AI Boom

Intelligence: Investor Michael Burry has launched a public campaign against Nvidia and the broader AI sector, arguing that the market is in bubble territory and that key companies are overstating their financial health.

• Burry placed over $1 billion in bearish put options against Nvidia and Palantir, criticizing what he sees as excessive valuations and accounting manipulation across the AI industry.

• He accuses Nvidia of using stock-based compensation that has cost shareholders $112.5 billion and claims AI firms are inflating equipment values to justify heavy spending.

• Nvidia responded with a memo to analysts rejecting Burry’s claims, saying he miscalculated by including RSU taxes and that its compensation practices are in line with peers.

• Burry likens Nvidia’s current position to Cisco in the late 1990s, warning that the company may have overbuilt infrastructure that customers do not yet need.

• After deregistering his firm due to regulatory constraints, Burry launched a paid Substack called “Cassandra Unchained,” using it as his main platform to question AI market fundamentals.

• Analysts are debating whether Burry’s public criticisms could erode investor confidence and, similar to past market episodes, contribute to a self-fulfilling downturn in AI stocks.
