  • GPT 5.2 shows strong performance gains over GPT 5.1, especially in knowledge work and technical problem solving. It wins or ties expert professionals on 70.9 percent of tasks in the GDPval benchmark, which measures real-world outputs across 44 occupations.

  • The model achieves expert-level quality at less than 1 percent of the cost and over 11 times the speed of human professionals, according to OpenAI’s internal studies.

  • In software engineering tasks such as those in SWE-Bench Pro, GPT 5.2 scores 55.6 percent accuracy across multiple programming languages and 80 percent on SWE-Bench Verified, setting new internal highs for code quality and reliability.

  • Early partner companies like Notion, Databricks, and JetBrains report measurable improvements in reasoning, data science, and coding workflows, citing stronger performance in long-context reasoning, document analysis, and front-end development.

  • GPT 5.2 introduces new “Thinking,” “Instant,” and “Pro” modes, available immediately through the API and rolling out to paid ChatGPT plans, expanding options for enterprise and professional users.

Google Launches Gemini Deep Research and DeepSearchQA for Advanced Web Intelligence

Intelligence: Google has unveiled a major update to its Gemini Deep Research agent, now accessible through the new Interactions API, alongside the open-source DeepSearchQA benchmark for testing agents on complex web research tasks.

  • Gemini Deep Research is designed for long-running analytic and synthesis tasks, powered by Gemini 3 Pro, Google’s most factual model to date, and fine-tuned to minimize hallucinations and improve report precision.

  • The agent autonomously plans research workflows by formulating queries, reading results, identifying knowledge gaps, and repeating the process for comprehensive coverage, achieving state-of-the-art performance on Humanity’s Last Exam, DeepSearchQA, and BrowseComp.

  • DeepSearchQA introduces a new benchmark for evaluating agents on multi-step, causal reasoning tasks across 17 fields, with 900 handcrafted examples testing both precision and completeness in information retrieval.

  • Real-world applications include financial, biotech, and market research firms using Gemini Deep Research to compress due diligence timelines from days to hours by aggregating web and proprietary data sources.

  • Developers can integrate the agent through the Interactions API, which supports document uploads, structured report generation, detailed citations, and JSON output formats for downstream automation.

Cursor Introduces Visual Editor for the Cursor Browser

Intelligence: Cursor has launched a new visual editor inside the Cursor Browser that connects design and code in one place, allowing developers to edit and refine web interfaces visually while the system handles code updates automatically.

  • The visual editor integrates directly with a web app’s codebase, giving users a single window to drag, drop, and reorganize elements across the DOM without switching contexts.

  • Developers can test and modify React component states directly, exposing and adjusting properties through the sidebar to see changes across variants in real time.

  • Visual controls like sliders, color pickers, and layout tools allow fine-tuning of styles, grids, and typography while maintaining alignment with design tokens and systems.

  • A “point and prompt” feature lets users click on any element and describe intended changes in plain language, with parallel-running agents applying updates instantly.

  • The update promotes a more intuitive workflow by closing the gap between design intent and code execution, aiming to make interface building faster and more natural
