OpenAI Introduces Frontier as Enterprise Platform for Building and Managing AI Agents
Intelligence: OpenAI launched Frontier, a platform helping enterprises build, deploy, and manage AI agents with shared context, onboarding, hands-on learning with feedback, and clear permissions addressing the opportunity gap where 75% of enterprise workers say AI helped them do tasks they couldn't do before. Early adopters include HP, Intuit, Oracle, State Farm, Thermo Fisher, and Uber, with BBVA, Cisco, and T-Mobile piloting the approach.

The platform connects siloed data warehouses, CRM systems, and internal applications to create a "semantic layer for the enterprise" that all AI coworkers can reference, understanding how information flows, where decisions happen, and what outcomes matter.
Frontier gives AI coworkers the ability to reason over data, work with files, run code, and use tools in an open agent execution environment building memories from past interactions that improve performance over time while running across local environments, enterprise cloud, and OpenAI-hosted runtimes.
Built on open standards, the platform works with existing systems without forcing replatforming, letting teams bring data and AI together where it lives while integrating applications they already use making AI coworkers accessible through any interface including ChatGPT, Atlas workflows, or existing business applications.
OpenAI pairs Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) with enterprise teams to develop best practices and establish a feedback loop from business problems to deployment to research and back, while working with Frontier Partners including Abridge, Clay, Ambience, Decagon, Harvey, and Sierra who commit to deep integration.

Anthropic Launches Claude Opus 4.6 With Better Coding and 1M Token Context
Intelligence: Anthropic released Claude Opus 4.6 with improved coding skills, 1M token context window (a first for Opus-class models), and the ability to sustain agentic tasks longer while operating more reliably in larger codebases. The model achieves highest scores on Terminal-Bench 2.0 agentic coding evaluation and outperforms GPT-5.2 by around 144 Elo points on GDPval-AA economically valuable knowledge work tasks.

On MRCR v2's 8-needle 1M variant testing "needle-in-a-haystack" information retrieval, Opus 4.6 scores 76% versus Sonnet 4.5's 18.5%, addressing "context rot" complaints where performance degrades as conversations exceed certain token counts with markedly better long-context performance.
New API features include adaptive thinking where Claude decides when deeper reasoning helps (versus binary on/off), four effort levels (low, medium, high default, max), context compaction that automatically summarizes older context when approaching limits, and 128k output tokens for larger tasks.
Claude Code now supports agent teams in research preview, spinning up multiple agents working in parallel that coordinate autonomously for tasks splitting into independent work like codebase reviews, controllable using Shift+Up/Down or tmux.
Claude in Excel handles long-running tasks with improved performance while Claude in PowerPoint (research preview for Max, Team, Enterprise) reads layouts, fonts, and slide masters to stay on brand when building from templates or generating full decks from descriptions.
