OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Images 2.0 with Thinking Capabilities and Precision at 2K Resolution

Intelligence: OpenAI just launched ChatGPT Images 2.0, and the big shift is that this is their first image model with thinking built in. That means it can search the web for real time information, reason through what the image should look like before generating it, and produce multiple distinct images from a single prompt with character and object continuity. The result feels less like AI and more like something a designer actually made.

  • Follows instructions precisely and handles the things that usually break image models like small text, iconography, UI elements, and dense compositions, all at up to 2K resolution.

  • When thinking mode is on it acts more like a creative partner, taking uploaded documents, researching context, and planning the image structure before generating anything.

  • Can now get up to 10 coherent images in one go that build on each other, useful for manga sequences, room redesigns, social graphics in multiple formats, or anything that previously needed manual stitching.

  • Supports aspect ratios from 3 to 1 all the way to 1 to 3 so outputs are ready for banners, posters, mobile screens, social graphics, and presentation slides.

  • Much stronger with non-Latin languages now rendering coherent text in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Hindi, and Bengali as part of the design rather than just a label dropped in.

  • Knowledge cutoff is December 2025 making it more accurate for educational graphics, maps, explainers, and anything where being current actually matters.

  • Available to all users in ChatGPT, Codex, and the API.

Google's New Deep Research Agents Bring Enterprise Grade Analysis to Long Horizon Research Workflows

Intelligence: Google just upgraded its Deep Research agent with Gemini 3.1 Pro and launched two versions built for different needs. The standard Deep Research is faster and cheaper for real time user facing work, while Deep Research Max is built for thoroughness, the kind of thing you set running overnight and wake up to a fully cited analyst report in the morning.

  • Both agents can now pull from the open web, your own private data sources, file uploads, and connected databases all in one research run.

  • MCP support means you can plug in financial data providers like FactSet, S&P Global, and PitchBook so the agent works across your actual data universe not just public search

  • For the first time Deep Research natively generates charts and infographics inline with the report rather than just producing walls of text..

  • You can review and adjust the research plan before the agent starts so you stay in control of scope and direction.

  • Multimodal inputs are supported meaning you can feed it PDFs, CSVs, images, audio, and video as starting context.

  • It powers the same research infrastructure behind Gemini App, NotebookLM, Google Search, and Google Finance.

  • Available now in public preview via paid tiers in the Gemini API with Google Cloud availability coming soon.
