Intelligence: OpenAI is developing a tool to generate music from text and audio prompts, though launch timing and product packaging are still undecided.

Microsoft Launches Copilot Mode in Edge

Intelligence: Microsoft officially launched Copilot Mode in Edge, making each new tab an AI chat window that blends search, responses, and navigation, with early agentic features available in limited preview.

• Copilot Mode ties Microsoft’s assistant directly into Edge, so every new tab opens a chat where you can ask questions, run searches, or enter a URL.

• The assistant can pull context from all open tabs to summarize pages or compare products across your windows.

• Agentic Copilot Actions can attempt tasks like unsubscribing from marketing emails and booking reservations, but reliability is uneven, and Microsoft warns the feature is for research and evaluation and can make mistakes.

• In testing, it successfully unsubscribed from a mailing list but failed to delete an email, reported sending an email that was not sent, and selected the wrong reservation date.

• Copilot can use your browsing history to improve answers with permission, and a preview feature called Journeys groups your history into topics and suggests what to explore next.

• Copilot Mode is now available to try by downloading Edge and toggling it on via Microsoft’s site, with Copilot Actions and Journeys in preview for users in the United States.
