Hi {{first_name|everyone}},
Google wants developers to build an app once and have it show up in both Search and Gemini, and its new Connected Apps Platform is how it’s trying to make that happen.
We’ve also got three tools for testing how AI agents handle your site and for blocking junk ad clicks, Anthropic’s work on speeding up drug development, UnitedHealthcare’s AI healthcare assistant, some oddly convincing AI-made superhero photos, and a quick word from our friends at The Flyover.
🤿 DEEP DIVE
More Apps, Less Jumping Around
One build, two Google products, and a lot more integrations.
Google doesn't just want you searching for things anymore. It wants you getting things done without having to jump between apps.
And apparently, the way to make that happen is to get a whole lot more apps connected.
Okay, so Google has introduced a preview of something called the Connected Apps Platform. The basic idea is pretty simple. Instead of developers having to figure out how to bring their apps into Search and Gemini separately, Google is giving them one place to build and manage those connections.
And there's a pretty useful distinction here. This isn't just about adding more apps to Gemini. It's about making the same app capabilities available across both Gemini and Google Search.
Build it once, bring it to both
Here's how it works.
Developers connect their apps using a cloud-hosted MCP server or Android MCP through Google's AppFunctions APIs. Then they use something called the Google Connected Console to register, test, and submit everything.
They can choose whether their app appears in Search, Gemini, or both.
And once it's live, they can monitor things like traffic, response times, and errors, while keeping their own branding and authenticated accounts.
Basically, Google is trying to make the whole process manageable from one place, rather than treating Search and Gemini as two separate destinations.
The apps are already showing up
This isn't starting from zero, either.
Google says it has already launched more than 50 Connected Apps across Search and Gemini, covering everything from productivity and event tickets to health and fitness.
Adobe, Experian, Localiza, and Peloton are among the partners whose integrations are already live in Gemini.
Those integrations are expected to arrive in Search in the coming weeks. Calm is also getting an integration across both products.
And I think that's the part that makes the idea easier to picture.
We're talking about the same general experience whether you're using Gemini or searching on Google. The connected app provides the capability, and Google provides another place to access it.
Not open to everyone just yet
There's one important detail, though.
The Connected Apps Platform is currently in preview, with developer access opening in phases. Google says it will expand to more developers, markets, and Google products over the coming months.
So the platform itself is still rolling out, even though dozens of Connected Apps are already available.
The whole idea comes down to a fairly simple change. Instead of building separate connections for different Google experiences, developers get one system to manage them, and users get more ways to interact with the apps they already use.
That's really the pitch.
The quick take
Developers can build and manage Connected Apps for both Google Search and Gemini.
Apps can appear in Search, Gemini, or both, with monitoring and brand controls managed centrally.
More than 50 apps already launched. Partners include Adobe, Experian, Localiza, and Peloton, with Calm also on the way.
The rollout is gradual. The developer platform is in preview, with broader access and more integrations planned over the coming months.

🤖 AI MADE THIS
Interesting and inspiring creations made with AI
A Reddit creator generated photographs of familiar superheroes as though they had been accidentally captured by someone with a camera. The grainy, distant images are surprisingly convincing, and people are already trying the technique with their favorite characters.

Anthropic is working with six organizations to see how Claude can speed up drug development, from designing molecules to preparing regulatory paperwork. Some early results are interesting. One partner cut document review time by 89%, while another used Claude to generate 35,000 antibody designs in a month. Anthropic has also started its own research into rare childhood diseases.
UnitedHealthcare is expanding access to Avery, its AI companion that helps members navigate healthcare questions, compare costs, and coordinate care. The company says Avery handles nearly 90% of member questions, with the rest going to human specialists.
⚒ TOOL SNAPSHOTS
Futuristic tools within AI, no-code, and productivity
🤖 Dedica
Tests if AI agents can browse, compare, and sign up.
Why it’s useful
It runs 125 free checks to find where agents fail on your site, then gives a specific fix for each issue. You can hand the fixes straight to your coding agent to improve agent usability.🧪 BotGauge
Find where AI agents break before users do.
Why it’s useful
It runs adaptive red team attacks and evals to catch security and behavioral failures, with full traces so you can replay issues. It also turns failures into regression tests and keeps retesting and monitoring as your agents ship and evolve.🛡️ Fraud Blocker
Block invalid ad clicks so you pay for real leads.
Why it’s useful
It filters out bot, click farm, and agent traffic and tells you why each click or IP got blocked. Useful for enterprises, marketers, and agencies trying to protect budgets and improve conversion quality.
