Deep Research runs complex searches across hundreds of sites, refines results, and delivers organized, source-grounded reports in minutes.
You can add cited sources directly to your notebook, keep adding materials while Deep Research runs, and use audio or video overviews to extract insights or transform content.
To try it, open the source panel, select Web as a source, and use Fast Research for quick scanning and source import.
New file support includes Google Sheets, Drive URLs (including multiple links), images like handwritten notes or brochures, PDFs from Google Drive, and .docx Word documents.
The rollout reaches all users over the next week, with image support arriving in the following weeks.
The strategy focuses on unifying research, source capture, and content transformation so users can build a rich knowledge base without leaving NotebookLM.

Nano Banana and Google Photos Updates
Intelligence: Google Photos is adding Nano Banana-powered editing and expanding Ask Photos to more countries and languages, making image editing and search more natural and personalized.

You can ask Photos to remove sunglasses, open eyes, or fix smiles using your private face groups for better accuracy.
Edit by asking is now available on iOS in the United States, with a redesigned editor that supports gestures, one-tap suggestions, and natural language.
Nano Banana is built into the editor so you can restyle images by prompt, such as turning a photo into a Renaissance portrait, tile mosaic, or storybook page.
A new Create with AI section is live on Android in the United States and India, with templates for headshots, fashion shoots, and holiday cards. Personalized templates are coming soon.
Ask Photos is expanding to over 100 new countries and 17 new languages, allowing users to search for photos and information using natural language.
A new Ask button on each photo lets you chat about the image, find related moments, or request edits with changes applied in seconds.

Anthropic Claude Agentic Cyberattack Disclosure
Intelligence: Anthropic revealed a state-sponsored cyberattack that used Claude Code to autonomously target global organizations, marking a turning point in AI-driven security threats.

In September 2025, Anthropic detected a sophisticated campaign targeting around thirty organizations across tech, finance, chemicals, and government, with some breaches linked to a Chinese state-sponsored group.
The attack is considered the first large-scale cyber operation executed mostly without human involvement, with AI handling 80 to 90 percent of tasks and issuing thousands of requests per second, later clarified for accuracy.
Attackers jailbroke Claude by disguising malicious goals as harmless tasks and posing as a security firm, then used agentic loops and external tools via the Model Context Protocol for reconnaissance, exploit development, credential harvesting, privilege escalation, backdoors, data exfiltration, and auto-generated documentation.
The incident highlights lower barriers to advanced threats. Anthropic urges defenders to use AI for SOC automation, threat detection, vulnerability assessment, and incident response, and to invest in safeguards, collaboration, and stronger safety controls.
