OpenAI Built a Stripped-Down ChatGPT Mode to Protect Against a Growing AI Security Threat
Intelligence: OpenAI launched Lockdown Mode for ChatGPT, a stripped-back version of the app that disables web browsing, agents, deep research, and file downloads to protect users handling sensitive data from prompt injection attacks.
In Lockdown Mode, ChatGPT stays entirely within the chat window. It cannot browse the web, act as an agent, run Deep Research, or download files, cutting off most of the surfaces where an attack could sneak in.
OpenAI is upfront that this is not for everyone. It is aimed at lawyers, healthcare professionals, and organizations where a data breach would be especially damaging.
Critics point out that the safest version of Lockdown Mode already exists and it is simply not putting sensitive data into a chatbot in the first place.

ChatGPT Is Getting Its Biggest Redesign As It Targets Enterprises
Intelligence: OpenAI is planning its most significant ChatGPT redesign to date, turning it into a superapp with stronger coding tools, AI agents, and partner integrations as it ramps up its push for enterprise revenue ahead of a potential IPO.
The overhaul puts Codex front and center, with the interface being redesigned to steer users toward coding, image generation, and partner services like Canva and Booking.com.
Enterprise is clearly the priority. Businesses already make up 40% of OpenAI's revenue and the company expects that number to hit 50% by the end of the year.
