Meta's New 30B Model Runs Full Agent Workflows Without Internet Access
Intelligence: Meta open-sourced Muse Glimmer, a 30-billion-parameter model distilled from a much larger teacher and compressed to run entirely on consumer hardware. The release includes a training recipe and speed optimizations aimed at making local agents feel as responsive as cloud-based ones.

Muse Glimmer is small enough to run on a single consumer GPU inside a Mac or PC, with no cloud connection required.
The model was trained by distilling agentic reasoning from Muse Spark, a much larger teacher model, then refined with reinforcement learning across coding and reasoning tasks.
A dedicated perception encoder lets the model read screenshots, charts, and documents alongside text.
Quantization compresses the model from over 55GB down to under 20GB, leaving room for image processing and memory to run at the same time.
A companion “drafter” model proposes blocks of tokens at once instead of generating one at a time, which speeds up replies without changing the output.
Meta is releasing the weights on Hugging Face, with support for Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM, and edge frameworks like llama.cpp arriving in the following days.

Deloitte Targets The Gap Between Fast AI Adoption And Slow Governance
Intelligence: Deloitte expanded its AI Controls and Assurance services as new research shows most companies plan to deploy autonomous agents well before they're prepared to govern them. The rollout covers everything from risk assessments to regulatory readiness across the AI lifecycle.
Deloitte's own research found that 74% of companies plan to deploy agentic AI within two years.
Only 21% of those companies report having a mature governance model in place for autonomous agents.
The expanded services include AI risk assessments, model validations, and redesigned controls for cases where AI affects financial reporting.
Deloitte is embedding governance and compliance checks directly into AI tools built with hyperscalers and other technology partners, rather than treating oversight as a separate step.
The offerings extend to regulatory readiness work, including SOC reporting and certifications, as AI-specific rules continue to take shape.
