Hi everyone,
Showrunner is breaking new ground with AI-powered TV show creation, offering users a unique chance to craft custom animations, backed by Amazon's Alexa Fund. Fable's stride into making AI a hub of interactive entertainment seems promising, though episodic content is where it shines for now.
Meanwhile, Manus is taking a big leap with its Wide Research feature, which could give it an edge over giants like OpenAI. The collaboration of AI agents for substantial research tasks looks like an exciting frontier.

Edward Saatchi’s Fable Launches AI TV Platform Showrunner With Backing From Amazon’s Alexa Fund
Intelligence: Fable, a San Francisco AI start-up led by Edward Saatchi, publicly launched its AI-powered TV show creation platform Showrunner this week, supported by a strategic investment from Amazon’s Alexa Fund, as it bets that AI can redefine how audiences interact with entertainment.

Amazon’s Alexa Fund invested an undisclosed amount in Fable to support the development of Showrunner, an AI-driven service designed to let users create and customize animated TV episodes by typing in prompts or modifying existing story worlds.
Showrunner, promoted as the “Netflix of AI,” allows anyone to make or join fictional stories, with user-generated content viewable for free and a planned subscription for creators ($10–$20/month); the platform emerged from a closed alpha test with 10,000 users.
Fable’s CEO, Edward Saatchi, sees AI not merely as a tool for special effects but as a new interactive entertainment medium akin to playable video games, and the company is in partnership talks with major studios such as Disney for content licensing.

Manus Unveils Wide Research, A Major Agentic AI Upgrade
Intelligence: Chinese AI startup Manus is launching “Wide Research,” a new feature enabling swarms of AI agents to collaborate on large-scale research tasks, marking its most significant platform update since March and positioning it as an emerging rival to global AI leaders.

The new Wide Research tool allows Manus to assign tasks to numerous AI agents simultaneously, greatly increasing the platform’s ability to process and analyze large data sets.
Wide Research is set to roll out this week, initially available through a premium subscription priced at $199 per month.
Interest in Manus is paralleling recent industry buzz around DeepSeek, another Chinese AI innovator recognized for its rapid advancements.
The move comes as larger rivals OpenAI and Anthropic are still developing their own next-generation AI agent capabilities, giving Manus a potential first-mover advantage.
