Gemini Spark Launches on macOS with New App Connections and Real Time Topic Tracking
Intelligence: Google is bringing Gemini Spark to the macOS app, letting it automate tasks like file sorting and spreadsheet creation across the desktop and Google Workspace. The update also adds new app connections including Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable and Zillow Rentals, along with support for custom MCP integrations and real time topic tracking.

Gemini Spark is now available on the macOS app in beta for Google AI Ultra subscribers aged 18 and over, starting in the US.
Spark can automate desktop tasks like sorting files into folders or building a budget spreadsheet from saved invoices.
Remote task execution is coming soon, letting users assign multi step tasks from their phone for Spark to complete on their Mac.
New app integrations include Google Tasks, Google Keep, Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable and Zillow Rentals.
Spark now supports custom Model Context Protocol connections and can track topics in real time across news, social media, finance, shopping, weather and sports.

Microsoft Launches a $2.5 billion Division to Help Clients Implement AI Across Their Businesses
Intelligence: Microsoft is investing $2.5 billion into a new division called Microsoft Frontier Co, which will embed 6,000 employees with clients to help them adopt AI. The move follows similar forward deployed engineering efforts from Amazon, Anthropic and OpenAI, and comes as Microsoft's stock has slumped 21% this year.

The division will embed 6,000 employees with clients, combining existing forward deployed engineers, technical consultants, support staff and industry focused salespeople.
Rodrigo Kede Lima, previously leading Microsoft's Asia business, will serve as president of the new division.
The announcement comes two days after Amazon committed $1 billion to a similar forward deployed engineering initiative.
