GLM-5.1 Demonstrates Extended Agentic Reasoning Across Vector Database, GPU, and Web Tasks
Intelligence: Zhipu AI released GLM-5.1, an open-source model designed to sustain optimization over hundreds of iterations and thousands of tool calls, achieving 6× improvements on vector database optimization and delivering a fully functional Linux desktop after 8 hours of continuous refinement outperforming previous models that plateau early.

GLM-5.1 sustains productivity over extended agentic sessions by breaking complex problems into experiments, reading results, identifying blockers, and revising strategy through repeated iteration, a capability previous models like GLM-5 lose after initial gains.
On VectorDBBench, GLM-5.1 continued optimizing over 600+ iterations with 6,000+ tool calls to reach 21.5k QPS, roughly 6× the 3,547 QPS benchmark achieved in standard 50-turn sessions, showing characteristic staircase optimization with six major structural transitions.
On KernelBench GPU kernel optimization across 50 problems, GLM-5.1 delivered 3.6× speedup while continuing to make progress where GLM-5 leveled off, though Claude Opus 4.6 remains strongest at 4.2× speedup in this domain.
In open-ended web application building, GLM-5.1 produced a complete, visually consistent Linux desktop environment after 8 hours of continuous self-directed improvement adding file browser, terminal, text editor, calculator, games, and polished styling where earlier models produce basic skeletons.
GLM-5.1 is available open-source under MIT License on HuggingFace and ModelScope, integrated with Claude Code and OpenClaw, with local deployment support via vLLM and SGLang, and accessible through api.z.ai and BigModel.cn platforms.

Atlassian Introduces Remix and AI Agents to Transform Confluence Into Creative Hub
Intelligence: Atlassian announced Remix, a visual tool converting Confluence data into charts and graphics, alongside three AI agents for Lovable prototyping, Replit app building, and Gamma presentations embedding AI directly into existing workflows rather than launching separate platforms.

Remix automatically recommends visual formats for data and information stored in Confluence, generating charts and graphics without requiring users to open additional applications keeping teams within their existing collaboration platform.
Three new third-party agents integrate via Model Context Protocol (MCP): one connects to Lovable for product prototyping, another to Replit for converting technical docs into starter apps, and a third to Gamma for building slides and presentation materials.
The embedding approach reflects broader industry shift toward AI agents in existing workflows rather than separate platforms. Atlassian added agents to Jira in February, Salesforce embedded AI in Slack, and OpenAI's Frontier Alliances push consultants to embed AI into clients' existing tech stacks.
By consolidating data, visuals, prototypes, and presentations in Confluence, teams can generate "a clear story for leaders, a prototype for builders, or a walkthrough for customers" from a single source of truth, reducing friction and enabling faster creation cycles.
