Google’s Gemini Omni Flash Generates and Edits Video from Any Combination of Inputs Through Conversation
Intelligence: Google launched Gemini Omni, a new model family that combines Gemini's reasoning with the ability to generate and edit video from any mix of images, audio, text, or video inputs, starting with Gemini Omni Flash.
You can edit videos through natural conversation, with each instruction building on the last while characters, physics, and scene details stay consistent throughout.
Omni draws on Gemini's knowledge of science, history, and cultural context to generate scenes that go beyond just looking real, helping ideas actually make sense on screen.
ny reference works as a starting point. Drop in an image, a sketch, a video clip, or a text description and Omni blends them into a single cohesive output.
For now you can create videos featuring your own digital avatar using your voice, with audio editing and other input types coming as Google works through responsible deployment.
All videos carry an imperceptible SynthID watermark and can be verified as AI-generated through the Gemini app, Chrome, and Google Search. Omni Flash is live today for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers, and free on YouTube Shorts starting this week.

A Technique Called Abliteration Is Letting Anyone Strip Safety Controls from Open AI Models
Intelligence: A Financial Times investigation found that freely available tools can strip safety controls from open AI models, with one tool alone used to create over 3,500 modified versions that responded to prompts involving malware, bioweapons, and child exploitation.
The technique, known as abliteration, removes guardrails from open models like Meta's Llama and Google's Gemma, and the altered versions reportedly answered dangerous prompts that the original models refused.
What used to require serious technical skill can now be done by almost anyone. One tool called Heretic, available on GitHub, has been downloaded 13 million times since its release last year.
Google said abliteration is a known challenge across all open models and pointed to its internal safety evaluations, while Meta declined to comment and GitHub noted that code with educational security value is not banned on its platform.
Open models have driven a huge amount of innovation, but that same openness makes safety layers easier to undo, and there is no clean fix on the table yet.
