Etsy Brings Its 100 Million Listing Catalog Into ChatGPT with a Conversational Shopping Experience
Intelligence: Etsy just launched a native app inside ChatGPT that lets shoppers describe what they are looking for in plain language instead of typing keywords and adjusting filters. Tag @Etsy in a ChatGPT prompt, describe what is needed, and the app surfaces relevant listings to browse and click through. It is live now in beta and comes after Etsy's earlier Instant Checkout experiment inside ChatGPT was quietly shut down in March after failing to drive meaningful sales volume.
The experience is designed for natural requests like finding a Mother's Day gift under a hundred dollars for someone who loves gardening, matching context and intent rather than just keywords.
Etsy is also testing a separate conversational gift search feature inside its own platform acting as a guided personal shopper for gift discovery.
Etsy joins Angi, SeatGeek, Tubi, and Wix in building native apps inside ChatGPT since the platform opened to developers in October.
The launch follows a strong Q1 2026 where Etsy posted $631 million in revenue, marketplace sales up 6% year over year, and active buyers growing for the first time in two years to 86.6 million.
Etsy also recently sold Depop to eBay for $1.2 billion to refocus on its core marketplace, making this ChatGPT push part of a broader effort to strengthen the main platform.

Meta Added Visual Analysis to Catch Kids Who Lied About Their Age
Intelligence: Meta is getting more aggressive about finding underage users on Instagram and Facebook, and the newest tool goes beyond reading bios and captions. AI visual analysis now scans photos and videos for general age cues like height and bone structure to flag accounts that might belong to someone under 13, without using facial recognition to identify the specific person.
The AI also scans posts, comments, captions, and bios for contextual signals like birthday celebrations or mentions of school grades to detect underage accounts.
Accounts flagged as potentially underage get deactivated and the holder must verify their age to avoid permanent deletion.
Community reporting is being simplified and AI is now handling more of the review process delivering faster and more consistent outcomes than human review alone in Meta's testing.
Teen Account protections are expanding to 27 EU countries and Brazil on Instagram, and rolling out to Facebook in the US for the first time with the UK and EU to follow in June.
Hundreds of millions of teens have already been enrolled in Teen Accounts since 2024, including accounts where the listed birthday showed an adult age but behavior suggested otherwise.
Meta is also sending notifications to parents in the US with tips on how to talk to teens about using their real age online, with access to additional resources through the Family Center.
