🤝 IN PARTNERSHIP WITH Incogni

Your info is on the dark web

Every day, data brokers profit from your sensitive info—phone number, DOB, SSN—selling it to the highest bidder. And who’s buying it? Best case: companies target you with ads. Worst case: scammers and identity thieves.

It's time you check out Incogni. It scrubs your personal data from the web, confronting the world’s data brokers on your behalf. And unlike other services, Incogni helps remove your sensitive information from all broker types, including those tricky People Search Sites.

Help protect yourself from identity theft, spam calls, ID theft and health insurers raising your rates. Plus, just for our readers: Get 55% off Incogni using code PRIVACY.

📕 LEARN SOMETHING
Power Automate super workflows

As a Power Automate consultant, here are some of the best ways I’ve seen it used to automate tasks and save time:

  • Emails: Sort, file, and auto-reply to emails based on set criteria.

  • Data Integration: Transfer and sync data between different applications automatically

  • Document Handling: Automate document sending, tracking, and approval notifications

  • Approvals: Automate approvals for expense reporting, leave requests, and more

Let’s focus on one of them… Approvals!

Problem: Vacation requests that do not have a formal process are annoying. There’s lots of emails, no tracking, and tough to chase approvals.

Solution: Create a flow that requests manager approval for leave requests

1/ Create a SharePoint list

Here’s a SharePoint list I made to track vacations.

2/ Create an automated flow in Power Automate

Set the trigger to “SharePoint - when an item is created”. Navigate to your SharePoint List.

Then, create a “Start and wait for an approval” step. Here are the parameters. You need use to use dynamic data for this step.

Next, add a Condition. You can find more information on these here.

The idea is to update the SP item to APPROVE or REJECT depending on the manager approvals.

3/ Test the flow.

Let’s add a new vacation request in the SP list and see what happens.

The latest request goes directly to the manager, who can approve or reject through their email.

Assuming the manager approves, the SP list gets automatically updated.
