Hi everyone,

Microsoft just dropped a new Copilot function directly into Excel, making AI a native part of the calculation engine.

It works like any other formula, pulling context from ranges and updating automatically as data changes.

On the other side, Meta is rolling out AI voice translation for Reels on Facebook and Instagram. Creators can now reach new audiences with dubbed content that preserves their own voice and even syncs lips with translations.

Also, really excited for our newest partner: Limitless, and their cool AI gadget!

Let’s get into the details.

Microsoft Brings the Copilot AI Function to Excel on Windows and Mac

Intelligence: Microsoft added a native COPILOT worksheet function to Excel that lets users prompt an AI model in formulas, with results that recalculate as data changes and work alongside existing functions.

  • Copilot is a built-in worksheet function that takes prompt parts plus optional context from cells or ranges and returns AI-generated results.

  • Because it is part of the calculation engine, outputs update automatically when source data changes, with no need to rerun scripts or refresh add-ins.

  • The function can be nested with standard Excel functions like IF, SWITCH, LAMBDA, and WRAPROWS, or use other formula results as part of its prompt.

  • Syntax follows the pattern =COPILOT(prompt_part1, [context1], [prompt_part2], [context2], ...) where prompt parts describe the task and context reference grid data.

  • An example use case includes classifying customer comments by sentiment or category by referencing a range such as D4:D18.

Meta Rolls Out AI Voice Translation Across Facebook and Instagram

Intelligence: Meta is launching an AI feature that dubs creators’ reels into other languages using the creator’s voice, with optional lip sync, to reach broader audiences.

  • Available globally wherever Meta AI is offered, for Facebook creators with 1,000 or more followers and all public Instagram accounts; accessed via Translate your voice with Meta AI before publishing.

  • Launch supports English to Spanish and Spanish to English, with more languages promised over time, though no timeline is provided.

  • AI preserves the creator’s voice tone and offers an optional lip sync feature to align translations with mouth movements.

  • Creators can preview and toggle translations or lip sync on or off at any time; translated reels are labeled, and viewers can disable seeing translations in select languages.

  • The New Insights metric shows views by language; Facebook creators can also upload up to 20 of their own dubbed audio tracks via Meta Business Suite before or after publishing.
