Rob Seaman and Anthropic Integrate Claude With Slack

Intelligence: Anthropic and Slack introduced two ways to use Claude with Slack as an in Slack assistant and as a Slack connector in the Claude apps so teams can draft replies, search messages and files, and bring trusted workspace context into AI-assisted work under existing permissions and admin controls.

• Two integration paths are available: Claude directly to a Slack workspace for in channel assistance or connect Slack to the Claude apps so Claude can search and reference workspace content during conversations.

• In Slack, Claude supports direct messages, an AI assistant panel, and thread participation with private drafts for review while retaining web search, document analysis, and existing connectors to pull context from docs and emails.

• Connecting Slack to Claude lets Claude search channels, direct messages, and shared files to power use cases like meeting preparation, project coordination, onboarding support, and creating documentation.

• Strategy and positioning center on building agentic enterprise workflows, with Slack’s Rob Seaman highlighting a partnership that brings best-in-class AI into the flow of work.

• Security and controls mirror a user’s Claude account, with admins managing org-wide app approval, users authenticating with existing Claude accounts, and access limited to channels and conversations a user can view under standard retention policies.

• Availability is via the Slack Marketplace for paid Slack plans, and the Slack connector is offered to Claude Team and Enterprise customers once admins enable it, after which users can set it up in the Connectors tab of Claude settings.

Intelligence: Google unveiled a more visual AI Mode in Search, adding conversational visual shopping powered by its visual search fan-out technique and Gemini 2.5 to deliver richer shoppable results.

• AI Mode now returns visual results using a fan-out technique that fuses Google visual understanding with Gemini 2.5 to analyze images, including background objects, for fuller context.

• Users can start with a picture, text, or both and receive visual options and inspiring images aimed at early-stage inspiration as well as purchase decisions.

• The experience supports conversational shopping, like talking with a friend or store manager, and provides shoppable options with links to buy.

• Google pairs Gemini models with its Shopping Graph of more than 50 billion product listings to infer intent and surface relevant products.

• Strategy targets the rise of AI-driven referral traffic and positions visual search as the next step toward personal stylist-like assistance that blends preferences, context, and recommendations.

• Executives Robby Stein and Lilian Rincon say search is moving from information to intelligence, with AI Mode becoming more visual and more helpful for shopping.
