ChatGPT Launches Its Own “Spotify Wrapped”

Intelligence: ChatGPT is rolling out a lightweight, opt-in annual recap called “Your Year with ChatGPT,” summarizing how individuals used the tool over the past year with personalized visuals and awards.

Intelligence:

• The feature is available to Free, Plus, and Pro users in select English-speaking markets, including the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, and New Zealand, but excludes Team, Enterprise, and Education accounts.

• Eligibility depends on having chat history and saved memory features enabled, plus meeting a minimum usage threshold, which quietly reinforces the value of long-term, persistent interaction.

• Modeled after Spotify Wrapped, the experience assigns playful “awards” like “Creative Debugger” based on usage patterns, framing productivity habits as identity markers.

• ChatGPT also generates a custom poem and image reflecting your dominant topics, signaling how generative AI is increasingly used to narrativize personal data, not just analyze it.

• The recap is explicitly opt-in and privacy-forward, surfaced on the home screen but never forced, aligning with growing sensitivity around AI memory and user trust.
