Brands Are Deploying Fake AI Influencers on Social Media and Making Creators Sign NDAs to Keep It Quiet

Intelligence: An investigation found that brands are increasingly using AI-generated influencers to mimic real customer experiences on social media, with no clear rules requiring them to disclose it and many creators being silenced by NDAs.

  • One creator who builds AI influencers for brands estimates that 40% to 60% of content from some major brands is already AI-generated, with creators contractually prevented from revealing it.

  • Examples spotted include AI-generated brides praising a photo app and a woman with an extra finger modeling for a fashion brand, which deleted the images only after being contacted by the Guardian.

  • Currently there are no rules in the UK requiring brands to label AI-generated promotional content, and the EU's AI Act requiring such disclosures only kicks in from August.

  • Investigation found that 70% of consumers could not correctly identify all fake videos shown to them, raising serious concerns about how easily people are being misled at scale.

SAP and Google Expand Their Partnership to Build an Agentic Commerce and Marketing Layer Grounded in Real Enterprise Data

Intelligence: SAP Commerce Cloud is joining Google's Universal Commerce Protocol, an open standard that lets AI agents handle the full shopping journey from product discovery to checkout, with SAP's products becoming accessible through Gemini and Google Search's AI Mode.
