Amazon Web Services to Launch AI Agent Marketplace, Competing with Google and Microsoft
Intelligence: Amazon Web Services (AWS) is set to introduce an AI agent marketplace, allowing startups to sell AI agents directly to its customers, joining the trend already established by Google Cloud and Microsoft.

AWS will unveil the AI agent marketplace during the AWS Summit in New York City on July 15.
The marketplace enables startups to offer their AI agents directly to AWS's enterprise customers.
Enterprises can easily search, install, and evaluate AI agents from a single, centralized platform.
Anthropic, a prominent AI company, is reportedly among the initial partners, though neither AWS nor Anthropic has publicly commented.
Startups can charge for their AI agents, with AWS taking a small percentage of sales, similar to software-as-a-service (SaaS) marketplaces.

Perplexity AI’s Comet Browser Promises a Smarter, More Productive Web but Faces Hurdles
Intelligence: Perplexity AI’s new Comet browser aims to move beyond simple web browsing by integrating AI agents that automate repetitive tasks and streamline workflows, but a recent review highlights both its impressive innovations and notable shortcomings.

Comet is built on Google Chrome’s foundations but adds AI agents to automate tasks like summarizing articles, managing social media, handling grocery lists, and organizing calendars.
Users can import their Chrome settings, bookmarks, and extensions, making the switch easy and familiar.
The browser offers faster loading and smoother multitasking, especially helpful for power users juggling many tabs or resource-heavy tasks.
Comet performs many AI tasks locally, reducing reliance on cloud servers and prioritizing user data privacy.
Occasional inconsistencies in completing tasks or interacting with certain websites (due to integration limits or platform policies).
Lack of detailed logs or transparency for AI actions, which may decrease user trust and confidence.
In some cases, unexpected automated actions can disrupt user control, especially on social media platforms.
