Anthropic's New Claude Models Set to Transform AI Coding and Reasoning
Intelligence: Anthropic has unveiled two advanced AI models, Claude Opus 4 and Claude Sonnet 4, which claim to redefine standards in coding and reasoning capabilities.
Claude Opus 4 is touted as the best coding model globally, excelling in complex tasks with sustained performance over long periods.
Claude Sonnet 4 is an enhanced version of its predecessor, Sonnet 3.7, improving precision in coding and reasoning.
Both models can now utilize external tools and web searches to improve responses during complex reasoning tasks and both have enhanced capability to use multiple tools simultaneously for improved efficiency.
Opus 4 can create 'memory files' with useful information when given access to local files, enhancing long-term task performance.

Opus 4 achieved top scores of 72.5% on SWE-bench and 43.2% on Terminal-bench for coding tasks.
Sonnet 4 scored 72.7% on SWE-bench, showing significant improvements in code execution and instruction following.
