Built from millions of real production queries submitted to Perplexity Deep Research, the benchmark uses an LLM-as-judge protocol to fact-check responses against real data and reduce subjectivity.

  • The benchmark is model-agnostic and can assess any AI system with research capabilities, with early results showing Perplexity Deep Research leads in accuracy and speed while outperforming competitors in challenging domains like legal and personalized queries.

  • Detailed evaluation rubrics were refined through expert review to reflect authentic research scenarios, marking a shift from previous benchmarks that relied on artificial or theoretical test cases rather than real production queries.
