Adobe Built a Commercially Safe Audio Suite Directly Into Firefly
Intelligence: Adobe Firefly's audio generation tools, covering music, voiceovers and sound effects, have moved out of limited release and are now available to all users. The update lands alongside a free tier for Firefly AI Assistant and a new model option built for creators who start with video, audio or image prompts instead of text.
Generate Music produces original tracks tuned to a video's length and mood, built to be used commercially without takedown risk.
Generate Speech turns a written script into a voiceover with adjustable pacing and emotion, using either Adobe's own model or ElevenLabs.
Generate Sound Effects builds custom audio matched to the timing and energy of a scene.
A Berklee College of Music survey found that every video creator, musician and marketer polled reported using music in their videos.
Firefly AI Assistant now offers a free version with daily generations, alongside skills like Create Storyboard and Create Brand Kit.
Google's Gemini Omni Flash joins Firefly's model lineup, and it accepts video, audio and image prompts in addition to text.

ChatGPT Can Now Read Missed Texts and Send Replies From the Desktop
Intelligence: OpenAI has released a ChatGPT plugin that connects to Apple's Messages app on Mac, letting the chatbot search past conversations and draft replies. The rollout requires a chain of permissions most people would not grant by accident, and it arrives at an awkward moment between the two companies.
The plugin is currently limited to ChatGPT Work and Codex users on Mac.
Setup requires granting ChatGPT access to on-device Messages history, Full Disk Access in System Settings, and contact names.
OpenAI said that the plugin does not build an index of a user's texts and only reads a thread when explicitly prompted.
Any reply ChatGPT drafts needs explicit approval before it gets sent.
